Some ideas for the open meeting on Sat 6th Feb 2010
Why an open meeting?
- Way to build BubHub community by more people becoming actively involved and expanding on what has been started by a small group
- How BubHub began - the original vision
- Where we are now
- Update on financial situation - paying back Roshnii - paying for next block of rental - what's happening with the UnLtd funding?
- Venue issues?
- Where do we want to go from here?
- What would would people like to see at Bubhub?
- Is there anything that we can do that can make the space work better for people?
- Ways that people can get involved e.g: helping out on the day, contributing ideas/resources on the wiki, facilitating an activity, making links with other groups/ local businesses etc.
- Expanding the BubHub wiki to make it a really useful online resource

Re: fundraising ideas - Sewing Services Raffle
My ability to help out on the day is pretty low at the moment, but I would still like to dedicate some time to the group so I thought of the possibility of launching a sewing service raffle. This would be for two or three slots of sewing/mending/alterations, and it could be anything the winner needs doing (shortening, lengthening, taking in or out, repairing, not-so-invisible mending, patches, new zips, cushion covers, and some simple refitting/redesigns). This represents a value of £8-25+ per slot, depending on the alteration needed (I will take on more than one job from a winner if what they need is too quick or simple). For those that already sew I could offer help with a project, a pattern alterations lesson, help to make a body double, draft a basic pattern to their measurements (or a skirt pattern in any design) and so on.
Is anybody up to organising the ruffle/promoting the tickets? Do you think there'd be adequate demand for this sort of service to raise a satisfactory amount?

Well I would really like to buy a ticket for that raffle E , fr getting help with my curtains ....but I'm sure if others would love help making slings, and all sorts. I think we could sell the tickets on the day ( perhaps include them in the price of entry that day? and pull the winners out on the same day ...so that it's an immediate thing that may work ? perhaps we could ask some of our other collaborators to offer something to it as well? I'm really liking the idea...
